The route depends on the tide (ebb and flow in the Port of Hamburg), so our experienced captains decide before or during the tour whether a passage through the canals and waterways of the historic Speicherstadt is possible. Please check in before your departure at our harbor tour pavilion (kiosk) at St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, Bridge 1, on the upper promenade. Our staff will be happy to inform you which ship from our fleet will be used for the evening lights tour and where the ship will depart from.

For the major maritime events in Hamburg, such as the Hamburg Port Anniversary or the Hamburg Cruise Days and New Year’s Eve, we offer interesting evening cruises as an alternative.

Our tickets are so-called open tickets for the Hamburg harbor tour. They are not tied to a specific date and are valid for our evening lights tour on both our traditional barges and large passenger ships.

  • The date and time selected during booking help you with planning and also serve as the basis for our cancellation policy (24 hours before departure).
  • Your ticket is valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be redeemed once within this period – even at a later time.
  • If you wish to take the tour on a different day or at a different time, no email or phone call is necessary.
    Simply bring your valid ticket to Landungsbrücken, Bridge 1, or to one of our on-site ticket pavilions and speak directly to our staff. They will be happy to assist you and assign you to the next available ship.

The Port of Hamburg is an open seaport and therefore subject to the tides. For this reason, it is not possible to navigate the canals and waterways of the historic Speicherstadt at all times or on every tour.

The evening lights tour through the Port of Hamburg with Abicht Elbreederei promises an unforgettable experience along the picturesque banks of the Elbe in Hamburg. As the sun sets and the city lights begin to sparkle, the historic buildings, the modern HafenCity with the Elbphilharmonie, and the impressive harbor cranes are all bathed in a magical sea of lights. Tickets can also be purchased at St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, Bridge 1 & Bridge 2 at our ticket pavilion on the upper promenade, as well as at Bridge 4 down by the water. You can buy tickets on site up until the departure of the evening lights tour.

Important note: People with disabilities receive a 50% discount on the ticket on site, provided that valid proof is presented.

  • We recommend arriving at the meeting point at least 30–45 minutes before departure to ensure you get good seats.
  • Boarding for the evening lights tour begins 1 hour before departure.

As not all of our ships are barrier-free, we kindly ask you to call our office before departure to check whether participation in the 1-hour evening lights tour is possible.

Our passenger ships RIVER STAR and HAMBURG, as well as our paddle steamer LOUISIANA STAR, are barrier-free and accessible via a gangway. They are also equipped with appropriate sanitary facilities.
Due to local conditions, we cannot inform you in advance at which times the above-mentioned ships will be used for the harbor tour (no fixed departure times).
Our luxury barges and traditional barges are not barrier-free accessible.
