Our harbour cruises start daily from Monday to Friday every half hour between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the departures sometimes take place every 15-30 minutes. In the winter season, October to Easter, the harbour cruises take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., approximately every hour.
Our ships are in service 365 days a year for visitors to Hamburg. Since the large ships in particular are often rented out, it is not possible to determine in advance when which ship will be used. On the day of your harbour cruise, you are welcome to ask our friendly staff at the ticket offices or in the office whether and when your favourite vessel will be used. We would be happy to provide you with the most precise information available at this point in time.
As far as the water level allows, our launches will take you to the Speicherstadt and Hafencity. The Ellerholz lock and the Ernst August Canal are also included in this tour. You have also included part of the container port on this trip. The passenger ships, on the other hand, take you in the direction of Blankenese, the container terminals and the large pots in the port. The Hafencity and the Speicherstadt are usually headed for at the end of the tour.
Both trips are ideal for exploring the Port of Hamburg. The difference between the two cruises is the duration, the departure times, and the ship of each trip. The grand harbour tour lasts 1 hour, you have the free choice between launch and passenger ship, depending on whether you want to go primarily to the container port or to the Speicherstadt. The XXL harbour tour lasts 2 hours and takes place at fixed times. Here we determine the ship from which we will show you as much of the Port of Hamburg as possible. On this cruise you will see the Speicherstadt, the Hafencity, the lock, the container port, Övelgönne, Blankenese, the big pots and much more. Anyone who would like to experience the Port of Hamburg on a trip can join our XXL harbour tour. From Easter to October we run daily at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. In winter (November to Easter) we run daily at 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m.
The port of Hamburg is an inland port that is influenced by the tides. Accordingly, we have high or low water at certain times, which makes it difficult or impossible to drive into the Speicherstadt. These tides can be determined using a so-called tide calendar, so that you can always see at home when the tide is low or high in the Port of Hamburg.
On board our passenger ships we give you the opportunity to choose between hot and cold drinks. On board our launches, however, we have no gastronomic offer during the trip. However, our colleagues will be happy to come to you on the ship before the trip to offer you the appropriate drinks.
It is not permitted to take drinks or food with you on board our ships.
Since we have a lot of spontaneous visitors to our daily harbour cruises and can never really say exactly when which ship is sailing, it is unfortunately not possible to reserve a table. You are welcome to ask our colleagues at Brücke 1 or Brücke 4 before the cruises to get on board in time and to be seated at the table of your choice. This regulation applies, among other things, to all areas on our ships.
You are very welcome to smoke in the outside areas of the ships. The consumption of tobacco products is only permitted there.
You are welcome to take your dog on board if it does not fall under the Attack Dog Ordinance. We also recommend not taking large dogs (head height 55 cm or more) on the launches, as it can get very „cuddly“ there and not all guests like dogs. We therefore recommend that you, with dogs, go on our passenger ships, which also sail regularly. However, dogs are not permitted on all event trips and are not recommended due to the duration of the trips.
In principle, you are welcome to take part in our harbour cruises and event trips with your entire family. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take prams or buggies with you on the launches due to the limited space, so we will be happy to keep them for you until you return. Please note, however, that we accept no liability for these. On our large passenger ships, taking prams with you is not a problem, as we have enough space available there.
You are very welcome to take your luggage on board our tours and stow it under your seat. However, no liability is assumed by the shipping company.
We are also happy to welcome all disabled passengers on board. On our passenger ships LOUISIANA STAR, RIVER STAR and MS HAMBURG we not only have barrier-free entry for you, but also barrier-free toilets on board. You can also travel with your wheelchair on our Concordia and Hanse Star. Unfortunately, we cannot transport electric wheelchairs due to their weight.
You are welcome to ask our colleagues at Bridge 1, at the top of the promenade, or at Bridge 4, at the bottom by the water, about the departure times at any time. They will be happy to provide you with the relevant information. You can reach us at our locations 365 days a year until the departure of the lights tour. You can also reach us from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by telephone on +49 40 31 78 22 0. We look forward to welcoming you on board.
